Not for Everyone

You’ve probably noticed, it’s open season on soliciting end-of-year donations for all of us nonprofit people. As you think about tying up your 2013 charitable giving, I’d like to emphasize to you that partnering with Laurie and I is not for everyone.

Really. For example,

If you think the good news of kingdom of God is only for later…

If your primary desire is to build the next great Christian institution…

If you don’t believe people can really change…

If you think church is a boring place…

If you think everything important can be precisely measured and touted…

If you don’t believe in a Living God who does miracles…

…then partnering with us is probably not for you. In fact, I bet you would find us rather bothersome.

However,

If you believe that God’s kingdom has come, and that you and I have an essential role in its advancement…

If your dream is to see God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven, both inside and outside the walls of the church’s buildings…

If you believe that God still changes shepherds into kings, and even delights to do it through worship and word…

If you think church is a breathtaking bride who makes hell tremble…

If you are willing to tend mustard seeds, knowing they grow into the mightiest trees…

If you believe that anything is still possible for God…

Then partnering with us may be for you. Your financial partnership will help Laurie and I keep our family healthy and will keep us available and resourced for our mission to bless the church by proclaiming Jesus and his kingdom through music, word, and relationship.

You can join us by donating to our nonprofit, The Blackthorn Project, and you’ll even get an inside track on everything we do. Click here to give (and if you do it before the end of the year we’ll send you a tax receipt for your 2013 tax deduction):

If you don’t have the resources to give what you would like to right now, consider starting a monthly partnership. Even a very small gift can make a great impact over time, and the predictability of consistent giving is a great advantage. Thank you.
