Through Rest

It’s hard to take a few days off. The urgent becomes very loud and resistance abounds when we are pulling our camping gear together, tying up loose ends, and getting the house buttoned up. There are so many reasons to just forget it and the chief among them is Productivity. There’s so much to do.

There always will be.

But after a couple of days of campfire, laughter, and a good strong hammock nap among the pines I remembered this:

True productivity, as opposed to busyness, requires two main ingredients: energy and vision.

Both energy and vision come to us through rest.
